Carolina Donnantuoni grew up in in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  She studied psychology in both Argentina and Barcelona.  After a decade in Europe she moved to the US in 2000 where she studied painting at RISD in Providence, Rhode Island.

The bold colors, scale and playful optimism of Carolina’s work, often with touches of the surreal, reflects both her perspective on the world and her personal roots in South America, Spain and Italy.  She often paints women, exploring their lives and emotions, as well as figures who have left a positive imprint on the world through their own lives and passions.

She works with acrylic, oil and collage to create richly textured work with brightness and depth.
